“I thought about suspending the customary celebration of my wedding anniversary today. to honour of our dear friend, Nnenna Ani, who passed on a few days ago.
But then I thought that her shocking death is a reminder that tomorrow is not promised and a good excuse to love, count our blessings one by one and celebrate, in the the living years.
So, I wrote what I thought was a clear message of love that mentioned our dear departed friend, Nnenna. But people have conflated the two issues, some suggesting my wife had died. Biko nu oh! My wife is very well. So, once again, here we go:
12th of February How much can one cram into one date? 17 years of contract renewal
20 years of bond re-sealed
21 years of rolling friendship
A million memories
And a lifetime of commitment.
I’ll always pause on this day to say thank you, Amaka, for giving me 3 beautiful reasons to die for and a million excuses to live for. Happy anniversary, baby”.
