At a modest event which held inside the Government House, Awka, Anambra state Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Onochie M. Anyachebelu today, Thursday, 17th March, 2022, swore-in Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo And Dr. Onyeka Ibezim as Executive Governor, and Deputy Governor of Anambra state respectively.
Former Anambra state Governors, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Mr Peter Obi, and Chief Willie Obiano were among the dignitaries at the event.
The newly sworn – in Governor and His Deputy arrived the venue in Innoson brand sports utility vehicles. Governor Soludo had while campaigning in 2021, said that Innoson brand of vehicles will be heavily patronised by the state government, and will also be his official vehicles. Soludo and Ibezim both wore ‘Akwete’ fabric designs and wore shoes made by the shoe makers at Ogbunike Shoe Cluster in Anambra state. These symbolic gestures signal Governor Soludo’s commitment to promoting Anambra and ‘Igbo made’ goods and services.
In his inaugural address, Governor Soludo said he would work tirelessly to make Anambra state a liveable and prosperous homeland. He announced the suspension of collection of market levies, and road taxes until the system of collection is overhauled.
