A lady identified as a baker and mother of one, Chinenye Opah, a native of Mgbowo, in Awgu local government area of Enugu state has died from a stray bullet reportedly fired by a DSS operative.
This occurred on Tuesday, 22nd March 2022, according to an online video posted by Mazi Chikodinaka Chris, and also reported by Punch newspaper online of the same date.
Incidents such as this are regular occurrences in Nigeria and damages the trust, and relationship between the public and security agencies. The anger of the public against such brutality, mainly at the hands of the police, the military and other branches of security in Nigeria came to the fore in 2020 with the #EndSars nationwide protests.
