Anambra state Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, today, Friday, 25th March, 2022, held a consultative town hall meeting with representatives of market and transport unions in Anambra state.
According to Governor Soludo, “Henceforth, not opening of markets and shops on Mondays or any other day in Anambra state without approval shall be seen as gross misconduct which shall attract appropriate sanctions.”

The various unions also used the occasion to raise certain issues affecting their operations, which Governor Soludo promised to look into. On the issue of market leadership elections and operation of parks, the Governor promised that government will look into their concerns and do the needful. He reminded them that
Anambra state economy loses in excess of nineteen billion Naira every time the sit-at-home is observed in the state, and solicited the support of all to make Anambra a liveable and prosperous state.
