So, after zoning the chairmanship position of the party to the North, PDP has resolved to throw their Presidential ticket open to just anybody? Probably the highest bidder? This same ticket was zoned to the North in 2019, so why this “open grazing” for 2023?
I recall in 2019, when Buhari visited Onitsha to commission Zik’s Mausoleum and attend APC presidential rally at Holy Trinity Cathedral field, a meeting (involving Mr President, political appointees, southeast politicians, Ohanézè leadership, traditional rulers etc) was to hold at the palace of Obi of Onitsha to discuss and negotiate this same 2023 Igbo presidency.
Sadly, Mr President was already in Onitsha when Ohanézè led by Nnia Nwodo issued a press release endorsing PDP and Atiku for president, even when the president was in our territory. Today, the same PDP is finding it difficult to support Southeast and it’s quest to be president of Nigeria.
Where’s Ohanézè? Where’s Nnia Nwodo and co who led that endorsement in Enugu? Do we still have Ndị Igbo in PDP or are they busy strategizing to be running mate? Mmadụ anozikwa n’uno? You guys should speak up now, except there’s another plan to sell out Ndị Igbo once again in the name of endorsement.
Until we do away with these traders in PDP masquerading as Igbo leaders, Igbo presidency will remain a dream!
