I am proud to be a recipient of the Sun Humanitarian Service Icon Award organized by the management of Sun Newspapers yesterday, May 7, 2022, at the Expo Convention Centre, Eko Hotels And Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
For me the essence of living is to impact positively on the lives of people especially the downtrodden and less-privileged. The award is an encouragement for me to do more for the people. I therefore pledge to continue to spend time and resources in service to humanity.
While I appreciate my beloved husband, Chief Larry Ekwunife and children for their support and encouragement over the years, I thank the management of The Sun Newspapers for this honour – this recognition will spur me to invest further in the lives of others.
To my colleagues, associates, friends and supporters, particularly the good of Anambra Central Senatorial District and Ndi Anambra who celebrated me across various media platforms and even placed advertorials to honour me, I cannot thank you enough!
In the words of Oscar Wilde, the smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention. Every position we find ourselves is an opportunity to serve humanity, we should therefore not miss out in doing the little things that will rekindle the hope of the hopeless in our society.
