Ndigbo have always practiced their own special home -grown development economics.
The spirit of Akuluouno is what has helped Ndigbo post Nigeria/Biafra war, as successful Igbo men and women brought money home to fund community development projects such as roads, markets, civic centres, award scholarships, build schools, hospitals etc.
It is along that line that the efforts of the Chairman, Oil Serv Group, Sir Emeka Okwuosa should be applauded.
He has built a hospital in his home town, Oraifite, Anambra State, in memory of his late mother, Dame Irene Okwuosa.
The Cardiothoracic Hospital which specialises in heart surgery
was commissioned on Thursday, 12th May 2022 by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyeka Ibezim.
On the 6th of May, 2022, Dr. Clem Nwogbo, Chairman of Awka Millennium City Development Company Ltd, and M P Infrastructure Ltd, operators of Awka Millennium City commissioned some corporate social responsibility projects they funded at two Awka schools.
We need more of such Akuluouno projects in the South – East.
