What happened today, Friday, 27th May, 2022, in Awka in the name of Idemili North and South APGA Primary is as funny as it is mind boggling.
That contrary to the stipulations of the electoral act, the Primary was moved from Idemili Federal Constituency to Awka is a major pointer to the nefarious plan that played out today.
That aspirants will be barred from their own election is as worrisome as it is not obtainable anywhere in the world. The Returning Officer simply said it’s the “Directive” that must be obeyed. And all aspirants were outside the hall while the scam lasted.
That delegates will be freely snapping their votes and sending to an aspirant who in turn would transfer N500,000 to their accounts as balance of an initial N500,000 received, is a clear definition of how heartless, hungry and without conscience we have become as party members.
That the Returning Officer didn’t have the courtesy of even announcing the so – called results to the aspirants is brazenly out of order. He fled with the results in the company of security operatives.
Is this really APGA? Is this the type of politics I want to play? I doubt it.
