In a re-scheduled primary election which held today, Wednesday, 1st June, 2022, at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Engineer Chris Azubuogu beat the other three aspirants to become the flagbearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), for Anambra South Senatorial District elections in 2023.
The scores are as follows:

(2) Ben Nwankwo 113
(3) Emma Nwachukwu 75
(4) Akachukwu Nwankpo 44
