Miss Okeke Chiamaka Mabel, a 300-level student of History and International Studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has died from the injuries she sustained from armed robbers.
The robbers who were operating on a motorbike attacked, stabbed and snatched her phone while she was standing along the busy old Enugu/Onitsha expressway.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, June 10, 2022. A youth leader from the community decried the rising insecurity in the state and called on the government to take drastic action to curb criminality in the state. According to him, “Anambra is turning into Animal farm. Chiamaka would have still been alive if ASUU was not on strike. She would have been in school with other students. Also, people now commit all manner of atrocities and the police appear helpless”.
The remains of the deceased have since been laid to rest in Uruokwe village in Enugwu-Ukwu. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.
