The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), for Awka North and South federal constituency, in the forthcoming 2023 Federal House of Representatives elections, Hon. Obi Nwankwo has said that Ndigbo have a proud and rich cultural heritage which they should always be proud of, and seek to promote at every opportunity.
Hon. Nwankwo who stated this while interacting with journalists on how to promote Igbo culture, especially among the younger generation, urged parents to teach their children Igbo language at home.
“Parents should lay the foundation for promotion of Igbo culture at home, by speaking the language with their children, and teaching them early on in life other aspects of Igbo culture, including food, festivals, dressing, respect, hardwork etc”, Hon. Nwankwo said.
Continuing, he said that the schools also have an important role to play by sustaining the teaching of Igbo cultural values and language.
“Nke anyi ama nfu. Ndigbo should always be proud of their culture and identity wherever they find themselves”, he concluded.
