With the new wave of increasing attacks and insecurity across the Nation, one is tempted to conclude that truly the presidency is at cross road on finding lasting solutions to the numerous security challenges facing the country.
The Tuesday attack on President Buhari’s advance team of security guards, protocol and media officers in DAURA Katsina ahead of Mr. President’s visit for the Id-el-Kabir Salah Celebration leaves the citizens in wide shock.
Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity in a statement on Tuesday confirmed the incident.
“The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS accompanying the convoy.
“Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered during the attack.
“All the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it to safety to DAURA”, Shehu said.
