Popular Abuja Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. John Chinenye Oluoma, has been transferred!
The practical priest who is massively loved by both Catholics and non Catholics due to his style of preaching and way of interpreting God’s words said his last Mass as the parish priest of St John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, TradeMore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
The parish is under the Archdiocese of Abuja and headed by Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama.
Hugely loved by his parishioners.
It was gathered that many broke down in tears as soon as Fada Oluoma broke the news of his transfer to them.
Shedding more light on his transfer and new assignment, Fada Oluoma, in a piece entitled, MY PHILIPPIAN CHURCH, on his Facebook page said:
“Sunday 3rd of July was my last mass as parish priest of St John Mary Vianney Catholic Church TradeMore estate Lugbe Abuja. It was an emotional roller coaster for me.
“It’s neither strange nor new to have priests reshuffled in the Catholic Church in Nigeria. Saying goodbye and welcome happen a multiple times in the life of a priest. I have waved such goodbyes and heard welcome a number of times, I should be used to it.
“However, saying goodbye to the good people of St Johnmary Vianney parish, TradeMore estate, left a lump in my throat. It was the toughest and most emotional for me because I connected with them like family( which, of course, is what the relationship between a pastor and his flocks should be)
“If you read Phil 1:3-8, you will notice how specially connected Paul was to the church of Philippi. I sense a special intimacy between him and that PHILIPPIAN church. That’s how I feel about the church of St JohnVianney TradeMore estate Lugbe.
“The pictures are just snippets of the events that day. After mass we went to pray on the land( about 2 hectares or more) donated to the parish by Engr Dr Emmanuel Mbaka “Ugbo Vu Mba”. The pioneering pupils of St JohnVianney International academy bade me farewell in a beautiful way. I got a portrait of me by Miss Chiegeonu Favor and some other stuff.
“My new assignment is RadioMaria 91.3 FM. Standing on the integrity of Psalm 90:4 and 2Pet 3:8, I specially appealed to them, and now to you, to pray for the Grace of Speed in accomplishment. I enjoyed that grace in TradeMore, I need it in RadioMaria.
“To my PHILIPPIAN CHURCH in TradeMore, I love you all.
“N. B. Online mass and other activities continue by God’s grace.”
