I repeat, no Muslim, no matter how educated, informed, liberal, will ever endorse a Christian-Christian ticket in Nigeria.
None.
You dare not mute it much more try it.
The violence that will greet such an idea will be better imagined than expressed.
The APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has picked fellow Muslim and former Borno State governor, Alhaji Shettima, as his running mate
Unfortunately, some Christians are already endorsing it.
Many Christians are docile.
They love money more than their faith.
Like I wrote before, it was tried in Kaduna, which had always balanced the religious divide with a Muslim-Christian ticket, and in only one instance, a Christian-Muslim ticket.
We all know how that ended.
Nasir el’Rufai rubbished that and it stayed.
Today, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rubbished every Northern Christian.
None is good enough to win votes for him.
None is good enough to be accepted by Northen Muslims.
Of course, nobody expected him to pick his running mate from the South.
I am going to adopt “a siddon-de-look approach.”
Let’s see how Christians will respond to this gratuitous insult.
Let me see what the pentecostals and the orthodox divide will do.
I warned: the consequences will be grave for the Christian community in Nigeria.
Very grave.
