In its bid to recreate Anambra’s urban areas, the state government has continued its demolition exercise in Onitsha metropolis, and has marked over a thousand shops for demolition in Ochanja Market, Onitsha. According to officials, most of the buildings were built without approval, while others failed integrity test and are structurally deficient, thus posing great threat to the lives of traders, customers and nearby properties.

The team led by the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Obinna Ngonnadi also had Barrister Chike Maduekwe, Chairman of Anambra Physical Planning Board.
