By Joseph Albert (Umunna TV)

To support the fight against insecurity in Anambra State, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has donated N500 million to the state government.

For over a year, Anambra State had been brought on her knees by the activities of criminal groups who kidnap, kill and steal from residents until lately, when Governor Soludo started fighting back.

Senator Ubah, who made the pledge at the Anambra State Government House Awka during his visit to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, said the promise would be redeemed in the next three months, and equally made specifications on how the money would be spent.

In a press release signed by Head, Media and Strategic Communications to Senator Ubah, Mr Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, Ubah noted that it takes a secured environment for sustainable infrastructural development to take root in the state in the days ahead.

He said “I will complement your efforts with a series of interventions aimed at curbing capital flight from the zone and restoring confidence in our people to return home and help in recovering our economy.”

Explaining how the funds would be spent, Senator Ubah said N200 million will be spent on the training of security personnel and provision of latest security communication gadgets for Anambra South vigilante groups, while N300 million would be for the provision of solar lights to further illuminate and strengthen the security architecture in Anambra South Senatorial District.
