The Nigerian Embassy in Rome, Itay has confirmed the killing of one 39-year-old physically challenged, Mr. Alika Ogorchukwu.

Mr. Ogorchukwu, was on Friday gruesomely beaten to death by an Italian man in Civitanova Marche city, Italy.

According to a statement by the Nigerian embassy in Italy, the incident occurred on a busy street, in front of shocked onlookers, some of whom made videos of the attack, with little or no attempt to prevent it.

The federal government while condemning the immoral act urged Nigerians in Italy to remain calm and not take laws into their hands as the Nigerian government is collaborating with the Italian authorities in ensuring the culprit is brought to book.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Italy; Mr Abam Omini Mfawa, commiserated with the family of the deceased and directed the provision of immediate consular assistance to the family of Late Alika Ogorchukwu as appropriately required under such circumstance.

Note, Ogorchukwu’s murder is the third case of diaspora murder recorded in one week in the streets of Italy and the gruesome murder of physically challenged Alika Ogorchukwu beaten to death remains inhumanly pathetic.
