Uncertainty Surrounds Death Of 3 COOU Students On Campus

… as sources accuse police of demanding money before releasing corpses

Three students of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus, have been reported dead.

ANSUGIST MEDIA reports that the students who died in their lodge, Goodluck hostel, were dentified as Obidiaso Chidera – 200 level Political Science student, Mercy – a Pharmacy student, and Emmanuella – a Business Administration student.

Sources who alleged that the students were murdered, said the students “were locked up in the apartment. When we got access to the apartment, we found them lifeless with two of them on their beds in the room, while the third lifeless body was found in the kitchen”.

The corpses have been moved to Nteje police station, according to a source who also accused officers at the station of demanding money before they can release the corpses.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Dr Harrison Madubueze has confirmed the development, adding, among other things, that investigation by security operatives will be made public.
