
Imo State vulnerable groups receive Federal Government Cash Grants through the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and Social development.
The Imo State Governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodimma at the event assured the support of the Shared Prosperity Government for the National Social Investment Program in Imo State.

The Governor made the assurance at the Concord Hotel during the flag-off of the distribution of the Federal Government’s cash grant to the Vulnerable groups in Imo State.
He commended the Honorable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and Social development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruq and her team for touching lives and alleviating poverty in the nation. The Governor showered encomium on the minister for her interest in the well-being of the poor, said she’s the solution of poverty in Africa.

The Governor disclosed that in recognition of the welfare of the masses, he floated the ministry in the State where the promises by the Shared Prosperity Government will be actualized.
While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his love for Imo State, Governor Uzodimma also requested for more empowerment opportunities for Imo people and to capture more vulnerable people for a better life and sustainability of the economy.

Speaking earlier at the Government House Executive Chamber, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruq introduced the National Social Investment Program as a program designed by the President for the vulnerable groups in the country; a strategy for poverty alleviation for youths, women and the people living with disabilities.
She commended the Governor for his support in ensuring smooth implementation of the program in the State.

In company with the Governor is his wife, Barr. Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, the deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Bola Njoku, and a host of Government officials.
