The convoy of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah came under heavy armed attack around 6pm on Sunday 11th September, 2022, in what seemed like a failed assassination attempt around the busy Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu market , Njikoka LGA by gunmen whose identity and motive remain unknown.
According to Hon. Aguiyi; “I am deeply shocked and in grief to hear about the despicable act that caused a large number of casualties some of whom are personally know to me. I’m beyond shocked and in grief . Such inhuman and terrific act of terrorism will never be justified by any reason, and I strongly condemn such evil acts. Every single crisis ends in dialogue and I urge all conflict entrepreneurs in the state to embrace peace as these series of violence will not yield any favorable outcome as the State will not regress in its quest for peace and security for all”.
Continuing, Hon. Aguiyi said; “As the Chairman of Njikoka local government, we are reviewing the security situation with relevant security agencies and will provide additional improved measures to complement the efforts of the State Government to ensure adequate protection and security of lives and properties within our local council. I express solidarity to Mr Governor, the Anambra State Government and the good people of Anambra especially those working tirelessly to make Anambra peaceful, safe and livable.
Furthermore, I also express my deepest condolences to all the families of the bereaved. May God grant their souls eternal rest.
I pray almighty God to keep Njikoka in His loving care . Put a spiritual hedge of protection around the people and their land . Watch over the land of Njikoka as a good shepherd watches over his flock , and may the traumatized people find their ultimate safety and security in God”.
