Odum n’eche Igbo, I remember you today as I always remember you…in times of Joy, especially as I watch our children grow, in times of anxiety as I recall your counsel about disarming fear and apprehension, in times of hopelessness when your infectious optimism would pervade every creek of dismay… you are all this and more to me.
But to us, you remain a symbol of valiant defiance in the face of oppression and injustice against your people.
You have written your name upon the scroll of Heroes and today, another anniversary of your transition, we salute your selflessness, your courage and your sacrifice.
Continue to Rest with God in Heaven’s Land of the Brave. Amen.
