By Aniemeka Chiamaka Rejoice (Umunna TV)

Kelechi Chinwendu Kelechi who hails from Abia state is said to be a self thought artist who uses ancient patterns and symbols to create paintings that tells the past stories of “Ndi Igbo”.

She studied the traditional way of aesthetic making in Igbo; how the Igbos communicated using art in times past. Then created “ukaraohu” (ukara is the ritual cloth of the ethnic society) in 2019 as a way to practice “nsibidi”.

Over the years she has created a lot of relatable stories using this method and now educates children on how to do same for posterity.
