Gunmen Invade Genuine Estate In Gwarinpa, Abduct Residents

By Chimmeli Precious (Ụmụnna TV) Gunmen suspected to be bandits in the early hours of Monday attacked Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa in the Federal Capital Territory. Sources from the residents said that the gunmen who in large numbers were armed with bows, arrows and machetes operated in the estate between 1am and 4am, abducting a yet-to-be-identified number of residents. The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, however said the case was a robbery case not a kidnapping case. She also revealed that the police had already been mobilised to the scene to ascertain how the incident happened. Kidnapped Methodist Prelate Regains His Freedom

By Chimmeli Precious (Ụmụnna TV) Samuel Kanu, the Methodist Church Prelate, who was kidnapped along with two other clerics by unknown gunmen along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway on Sunday, May 29, has regained his freedom. He and the other two abductees were all released this evening, May 30. As of the time of this report, it is not certain if any ransom was paid for their release.

CAN Asks Buhari To Secure Release of Kidnapped Methodist Prelate

By Chimmeli Precious (Ụmụnna TV) The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to secure the release of Samuel Kanu, prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN). Samuel Kanu was said to have been kidnapped on Sunday along Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway in Umunneochi LGA of Abia state. Dennis Mark, the bishop of Owerri, as well as another cleric, were also said to have been kidnapped during the attack. Five-year-old pupil taking swimming lesson drowns in Lagos

Anthony, the pupil’s father has alleged that negligence on the part of the school officials resulted in his son's death. Federal Government Launches Application for Security Alerts

According to a statement, Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior, inaugurated the app at the ministry’s headquarters on Thursday.  The minister pointed that many attacks would have been thwarted if the security agencies had been notified in real time, adding that this prompted the development of a platform that the public can use to communicate with security agencies. Aregbesola said the application is free to use for Nigerians, adding that for now, it can only work on smart devices. Nigeria And Some African Countries To Witness 1st Lunar Eclipse Of 2022

Chimmeli Precious (Ụmụnna TV)  Prof. Augustine Ubachukwu, Astronomy Research Group Lead, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu State, said that Nigeria and some African countries would witness the first total Lunar eclipse of the year by May 16. In an interview on Wednesday with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ubachukwu said the second eclipse is expected to occur on Nov. 8. According to him, a larger moon than usual full Moon will enter the centre of Earth’s shadow for well over 80 minutes.
