Now, two things are worth noting are. Chimamanda was being honoured by the Igwe of her hometown, Abba, in Anambra State. By Joe Nwabrije I felt like eating ‘’mama-put’’ that day. So I drove to a legendary mama- put joint in Owerri called Nda Letti. After dishing my rice, beans and dodo, the lady stirred the steaming pot of stew and I caught a glimpse of this juicy coiled kpomo (cow hide) as it surfaced and swam back into the festival of parts featuring shaki, tozo, cowleg etc.I had to have that particular kpomo… When it ended up on my plate, quivering beside one weak dodo, my day was ready to start. I saved the kpomo for last…in anticipation of a crunchy finale. The first sign of trouble was when I ‘’chooked’’ this kpomo with my fork…and it didn’t enter.I should have given up at that point…. but you know nah. So, I looked around…and since there were no sophisticated persons to worry about...

David Oyelowo, the actor, has partnered with the BBC on a limited series titled ‘Biafra The film star spoke of the project in an interview with Deadline. ‘Biafra’ is set in the UK and Nigeria, with the story unfolding across the present day and the 1967-70 Biafra War. Seen through the eyes of a young Black British woman, the series will combine character-led personal stories with themes of family, identity, and belonging at its heart. Oyelowo described ‘Biafra’ as one of his most treasured projects. He said the series satisfies his desire to “see African stories told at the highest level.” The series, it is understood, is still in development with the BBC. Owerri – Gunmen, Friday, shot and killed Prince Iheme, elder brother to Nollywood star, Osita Iheme, in Imo State. Iheme was said to be riding with the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Martins Eke when the gunmen ran into them and opened fire at Ubomiri, Mbaitoli council area of the state. It was gathered that the commissioner received a deep machete cut from the gunmen. The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC) has arrested and detained Oladapo Oyebanji, more known by his stage name, D’banj, PREMIUM TIMES can exclusively report. The musician was arrested and detained Tuesday after ICPC operatives closed in on him, forcing him to surrender himself at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, sources familiar with the matter said.
