Fr. Emmanuel Obimma Should Retrace His Steps

By Mazi Ejimofor It was MI the rapper who said and I quote, "even great Artists make fake Arts". The very rigorous training of catholic priesthood is rooted in sound theology and time-tested doctrines of the mother church. Sadly, in all this, exceptions arise from the pack. Some are detected early during training, some manifest after ordination, and some others degenerate following constant reprobacy arising from contaminations with earthly vanities. Where this is the case, it becomes imperative to embark on a retreat and seek reparation. Fr. Obimma needs to urgently embark on such a retreat as the Glory of his priestly calling is under serious threat. For a Priest who takes to the alter tell barefaced lies and incite his laity, insult persons old enough to father him and make c...

Obasanjo’s Endorsement Of Peter Obi

By Fred Chukwuelobe Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has endorsed the Labour Party's presidential candidate in this year's election, Mr Peter Obi. He says the challenges of the office require a healthy person. Fair enough. Opponents of the ObiDient Movement are aghast. The APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the endorsement as "worthless". He says OBJ has "always been against Progressives". Politics. If OBJ had endorsed Tinubu, he and his supporters would have heaped accolades on the former president. They would have described him as the 'greatest leader' Nigeria ever produced. They would have hailed him and described him in superfluous words. They all had visited him, seeking his blessings, or to 'consult him'. Now that he endorse...

Atiku Abubakar And Anambra’s Traditional Rulers

By Uche Nworah, Ph.D PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, was in Anambra state this week for the PDP presidential campaign which held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka. The candidate also took time out and interacted with traditional rulers in the state. This interaction has sparked controversy online, with many questioning if it was proper for Atiku to meet with the traditional rulers in a hall, and not the candidate visit them in their palaces. My knowledge about these things from my time in government is that candidates visit traditional rulers in their palaces. However, we have had the occasion where candidates meet with the traditional rulers at that conference room inside the government house, where the traditional rulers usually hold their meetings. ...

2023: Of Tinubu’s Vaulting Ambition and My Father’s Retirement from Palmwine Tapping

By David-Chyddy Eleke I want to write about the 'desperation' of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to be president of Nigeria in 2023, but first, let me write about my late father. I have told the story many times over, of how my late dad, Mr David Eleke (Snr) retired from a life long trade; palmwine tapping. He was a lowly young man who was in search of survival, and to survive, he employed the skill he knew well, and which was handy to him. That skill was palmwine tapping. I once wrote that in the whole of northern Cross River State - where he plied his trade, you cannot lay claims to having tasted good palmwine if you have not tasted one with the David Eleke imprint. My father was so good at what he did that he became a house...
